Hi, I’m Kathryn

The Backstory.

I was 17 when I first picked up knitting needles. It would be many more years- almost thirty - before I picked them up again when my mother passed away.

Shortly after her death, I came across a photo of she and I, knitting needles in hand, awash in joy. Suddenly it all made sense. The soft yarn & repetitive motion provided enormous comfort during an incredibly difficult time. Unsure of most everything, the click click of needles was the rhythm that fueled me forward. Knitting saved me.

At WEST END WOOLIES, our brand is rooted in the heartfelt story of its founder. The fusion of passion for education and love for knitting gave birth to this endeavor, a testament to the power of creativity and connection in times of sorrow.

The threads of fiber running through our creations symbolize a strong link to the past, weaving cherished memories into every stitch. With each movement of the needles, we embrace the act of creation as a means of reaching out to others and propelling ourselves towards brighter tomorrows, one project at a time.
